‘Still enough to Hear’
emerged naturally as this body of work took shape. I had originally set out to create something bright — something that felt like hope, like joy — a visual counterpoint to the heaviness many of us feel in the world today. But as the paintings developed, they surprised me. The palette softened into pastel blues, silvery purples, and gentle greys. The tone became more introspective. And instead of resisting that shift, I listened to it.
What I found, and what I hope this work reflects, is that grace doesn’t always arrive with a fanfare. Sometimes it’s quiet — a soft light through fog, a bloom that opens slowly, unnoticed at first. These pieces are about finding moments of stillness in the swirl, about the strength it takes to be tender when things feel unsure.
I don’t want this show to leave people feeling heavy. My intention is the opposite. I want it to offer calm. A breath. A reminder that we don’t have to have everything figured out to experience beauty. That there is dignity — even a kind of light — in simply continuing on.
If there’s one message I hope people take from this work, it’s that uncertainty doesn’t mean absence. It can be a space where something new, even something good, is quietly forming.
